I am in negotiations to purchase a sb supercut mower without motor. I need to get it from Moe to Geelong. Any tips on how to ship it. I have a quote for $150 but is there a cheaper option from peoples experience.

About a 5 hour round trip is it worth it?

Hi bellarinelawns and Norm

If the SC is in sound condition then it's definitely worth it.
Is hiring a ute out of the question?

Cheers

Hi bellarinelawns and Mod CJ,

I completely concur with what Jack has suggested.

If you can get hold of a Hilux or similar it would be a nice drive (but not on a 40 Degree Day) all along the Freeways of Melbourne from Moe through to Geelong via the Tunnels and the West Gate Bridge. I can't see anyone doing it any cheaper unless you find someone that's going that way on another trip.

Any reasonable "Supercut" is worth salvaging.

Cheers,
BB

Nothing about driving on our freeways is nice, they are just there to get you from A to B in the quickest time

I've got a mazda bt50. I just might make the trip myself. I just can't tell my wife...she doesn't understand my mower collection. She doesn't know half the stuff I've got.

Hi NormK,

Well it means you're driving on them at the wrong times. After 9.00am and before 3.00pm and then after 7.00pm they're a breeze. Buggered if I know how the are going to hang an extra 2 lanes on each side of the West Gate and also the Bolte Bridges.

The best thing they should do is replicate the West Gate next to the exsisting one but then it only transfers the problem closer to the Burnley and Domain Tunnels on the inbound.

Honestly I love Melbourne to get around, try Sydney with all that water to navigate around ?????

Cheers,
BB

Hi Bonar, sorry to drift off topic but the clowns running this state are saying there will be 8 million people living in Melbourne by 2050, nearly double what are living here now

Hi Norm,

Better start drilling out those tunnels to over double their size, and to think that they scrapped the link between the Tulla and the Eastern Freeways is absurd.

Honestly 2050 ??? who cares as I won't be here anymore to see that debacle.

Cheers,
BB

I've decided to make the trip to Moe. Its an hour 15 min. from west gate bridge. I've noted the comments about scenic route, low tunnels, lovely freeways etc. I won't be telling the wife. I'm just disappearing for the day. The guy has a few more mowers that i will have a look at so if anyone is looking for something let me know. I'll take a few photos.

Buy the others if they are cheap and then flog them off one by one, this will pay for your scenic route trip.

BB
