Merry Xmas!My 2 yr old unit runs well for 5-15 minutes, then loses power, bogs down and dies. Will start again on full choke only to die again.I've had the carby off & cleaned in fresh petrol but made no difference.(made in Mexico/Walbro carby) Any ideas? Am interested in buying a 4 stroke unit and wonder if you could recommend any.Are there any other than Honda worth considering without taking out a mortgage on my home?

Redeye, Remove the fuel filter screen in the carby first of all then replace the fuel filter in the tank. Try that and your problem should be solved.

Hi Bruce, thanks for your prompt reply.I will do it today.I've been told that the FS36 is not made by Stihl, but by Ryan (whoever they are) & that this is the same power head as Ryobi. This is a bit unsettling as I bought it specifically to get a more reliable unit than its predecessor ( a Ryobi ).Do you know if this is true?Redeye

Redeye, Yes it is corect that it is a Ryobi. As you well know that everyone is chasing the dollar and don't worry about the poor customer, you will find a lot of companies doing this to keep profits up.
