Hey guys, first post here.

I have recently just purchased a refurbed 20" scott bonnar cylinder mower and love it.

But turns out my dad use to have one that was sitting in his shed. (pics below)

I don't really know a lot about these mowers (yet) but i would like to give a go at restoring it.

What I know so far is that its a Scott Bonnar Model 33. How hard is it really to restore something? i have a large shed that i never use and i would love to restore something and i think this is right up my ally. Im talking full tear down bare metal respray the lot.

From reading over the forum you guys seem to give out the help when needed.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys think and if its worth giving it a go.

Hello 8lueoval,

A warm welcome to the ODK Forum :welcome:

The model 33 was a rather reliable unit but isn't a popular one with the restoring folk here. The Model 45 is the far more popular mower in that regard, but if it's sentimental reasons you're doing it for then please proceed with eagerness.

Model 33 parts are rather hard to come by as nothing new is available, only second hand stuff is out there and that's if you buy another unit for spares.

Let us know how you intend to proceed.

Cheers,
BB
