Hi all,

Thanks for all your help so far with my project!

I have another question.. This one relates to the electrics.

Question 1. In the below image, where does this wire from the contractor thingy go to?

Question 2.
Does this wire from the picture below also go to underneath this throttle part (unsure of its name)?

So in conclusion do both these wires go to the underneath of the throttle thingy? or does one go somewhere else?

Thank you

Righto, this is pretty easy, we'll just have to use the technical terms for the bits. grin

There should be two wires connected to the condenser/breaker point unit in the ignition housing. Both single strand, insulated wires.

One is the coil primary wire, the other goes to the engine stop switch, which is that doover mounted under the throttle lever mount bracket.

Like this [pic from the Briggs classic series repair manual, P/No CE8069]:

The 'depressor tool' shown is one that Briggs include with new condenser/points kits, but it's not hard to make something up. Saves a bit of frustration.

Gadge

Well done Brendan, it's a good feeling when you get them running.
