No mate,

The front 2 holes on the Villiers are the same, but the rears are wider on the 125cc....

You need the earlier Pace base, the same as the one you put up in the Pace engine thread, or a Villager steel base might be easiest to find.

This is where I am up to, engine all back together. Tank washed out and I have spark, carby came in the post today from John at Rustic Spares. It has the trumpet type air filter which I like very much.

Thank you Mal and thanks very much Jack for sorting out my pic/video glitch. It's such a smooth engine, runs beautifully. Now I have it running I will start the repainting etc :-)

Hi all,
Great to read this post, I have exactly the same Villiers on my Tecnico, right down to the 188X engine number so the dating discussion was useful and confirmed what I had thought already, late '56.

Mine is a real challenge to start, I think I need to get the flywheel off and improve connection between Coil and HT. I see there is an external screwed connection / gland, maybe someone knows if I can get a firmer connection adjusting from here?

I've been told a Victa plate has been fitted so I'm keen to get her back to the flat bar design but am struggling to find the appropriate offset between mounting area and the blade section. I have a 16" generic replacement but am stuck with the options of flattening out the fan sections on the end or try to increase the offset at the mounting point .. both could have balance consequences I think.

Well, once again, a bloody good read found and please ask away if you have any queries on my Technico smile
