hello there again gents , sort of hoping one of yez might shed a little light on what this is ? looks like its a sheerline or cadet engine , carb and muffler on opposite sides but cowelling looks different , i think its mouted on a 2T kirby base late ? but i can see its been cut out neatly for the port cover on the old 125 .

a blade bar i have never seen too or the height adjuster ! still its as solid as a rock but some wear in the body where axles go through . yes through , they are bolted stub axle type thing to the end of a rod .
number on the rear of base is on chrome decals , serial 768931 . model 84-158 . engine number is either A or 1 623697 , got a white victa choke on it too confused . the decal on the front says ball bearing engine

Looks like a Pope base to me, with a Sheerline 6/ Utility cowl and starter assy....

Cant see the engine, but Im sure you know your Victas. The Serial number is consistent with early 60s Victa, but the base its been mounted to appears Pope or possibly Torque Major. But Im thinking original Pope.

The Model 84-158 Im almost certain is Pope Prefix also.

Blade bar is almost certainly home made.

Hello vccomm and HT6

It's been bitsa week here at ODK.
Yep, the chassis is all Pope, except for the blade holder of course.
The 'roller bearing engine' decal and the '4' in the Model number tells us
this originally had the Pope-Clinton 4-stroke engine on it. The chassis
would date from the late 1970s, I guess.

It would have looked quite the handsome machine, in Apple Green and white.
Here is the original spec for the 84-158:-

you've done it again jack thanks for confirming that , and yes it looks better in real here so i guess now the hunt is on for an engine , blade holder , airfilter , and that flap setup .
airfilter and holder looks soo close to a rover.masport though ? around that time air snorkles where light grey or white too i think ?
thanks again guys
