know nothing
In between showers today here in sunny S.A had a look at these 2 machines and thought i get them up n running , both were easy and had spark already , but the boys were learning on one of them !
pulled it apart so i got most of it in a box , must have been a carby problem as always so they pulled it apart as ya do bigshock and mangled the top of throttle cable while they were in there . bypassed the govener so it doesnt have one ATM fix that later .
had a look see at engine number trying to put a date to them , one is im sure 1977 with an G4 primerless face no remote too its the one they put in a box for me . cleaned a little blockage and it fired right up after 3 years sitting out in the weather !
the other one . new plug and a carb tidyup and off it went too but no engine number anywhere , did this happen ? a 1st for me here , older style wheels but a newer machine

Both silver streaks . the bulbous cowelled one is i think newer of the 2 as its the LM type ? its the one without numbers stamped any idea of a date close enough ? 80s i think

It's not uncommon to find them without engine numbers I've come across a few myself. Take some closer pictures of the crankcase as the series 80's had a different casting. I should be able to tell you from that. It would only be able to tell if it's series 70's or 80's thought.

thanks blumby , it is an 80 series though yes ,got the sticker on it i was just curious , the amount that came through here its the 1st one i have seen with no numbers .
would swapping the wheels be an idea ? im sure its got older style wheels or do you know if it would have come with those ? doesnt looklike its doesnt enough work to warrant changing them .
thanks for the info mate

cheers
