Hi Please find attached pictures of an old HG Palmer Rotomo. Would this mower with the HG Palmer badge instead of Victa Boomerang be as collectible as the Victa badge model. The Victa badge actually looks better I think. Does anyone know what model this is and if it looks original? Would the Victa badge model be a more valuable mower to a collector?

Cheers

Thats a genuine Mid run Model 2 Tin wheel Rotomo.

HG Palmer did not make or name any mowers Rotomo"

The HG Palmer 2S base is higher and has different axle mounts, engine, handle bars and various other parts. And was also made 3 or more years later.

Simply, this a genuine Model 2 Rotomo,....With a Hg Palmer badge fitted.

Remove the badge, ebay it 30-50$ and buy the Correct Sad face Victa 18 badge if you like.

A few incorrect parts and rough repairs will lower this machines value, but overall its a fairly tidy Roto.

Hi,
It is a tidy unit as HT6 says, it's on Gumtree at the moment quite close to me. Are you selling it or looking at buying it ?

Hello all,

it's quite annoying when this happens, as there is a degree of deception involved,
unintentional, innocent, or otherwise...

The issue of badge collecting - particularly with Victas - has meant that many
sound Victa chassis have 'lost' their badges to the collectors' market.

I appreciate the irony here: of a Collectors' market being needed to correct
the past error and restore the machine back to its correct Victa id.
[A case of feeding the hand that bit you...?]

HT6's advice here is spot-on.

I might add, here, that re-badging this machine as a HGP makes no real sense at all.
The Model 2 is highly collectable; the HGP far less so!

All very interesting.
