Here's a question, I've been refurbishing mower decks for my second hand mowers but they seem to scratch a little easy. I sand away all lose and flaky paint add 2 coats of etch primer 2 coats of the required colour then a coat or two of clear, does any one know of a better application with spray can paint?

most times if i use spray cans i use the touchup auto ones not the supercheap plain enamel , or spray paint automotive enamel but hammertone is best really but really becoming hard to find now , and i was out looking today too !

Try this

Brush on with self leveling ability. Really tough finish. I've used it on my car chassis for great results. Aussie made as well.

I find the best stuff is 2pak clear, I mix a small amount in a touch up gun and you get a good strong finish. Bit expensive but in the overall costs it doesn't make a lot of difference
