Would someone be able to tell me if there is anything special about the motor on this 550 or is it just a standard powertorque? Also would someone know what wheel size it came with? The wheels it came with were to small the one's in the pic are a trial. It is missing out on a couple of notch's on the adjustment before it scrapes on the ground. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/06/full-9241-22174-005.jpg)

Standard powertorque engine, carby will probably have a different jet. Wheel sizes should be 8" rears and 7" fronts. If it's still scraping on the ground try some 8" wheels on the front also. It's probably scraping due to worn or sloppy front bushes etc.

Thanks bigted,I am tring to piece this one back together the guy I got it from took all the bits off this mower and threw them on a standard chassis and smashed the magnet on the flywheel in the process of trying to start it.Don't know where the original wheels ended up.I cant seem to find to much on these mowers on the net.

Is the engine meant to be on sideways on these? Think it is about the first mower I've ever seen that doesn't have the spark plug facing forward but then again, don't come across many Victa's in my neck of the woods.

Yes, all of that era were mounted east-west. I think that was a mistake as my first utility mower actually had the spark plug at the rear of the engine. That way it never got fouled by low bushes etc.

When the magnet shattered it has damaged the coil, I have another as a spare with the same part # but the one off the 550(damaged) has 8x2 stamped and the spare has 2x3.Are these the same coil just different numbers stamped on them? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/06/full-9241-22191-004.jpg)

If its the same part number it'll fit. The stamping is a date or production code.
