This has to be Australia's most expensive Scott Bonnar. Check it out................... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Scott-Bo...pt=AU_Lawnmowers&hash=item339d2f8df8Cheers, BB ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/02/full-5156-20174-rat_rodded_supercut_j.jpg)

I guess that's why I said dreamer as it's not buyer based but a seller orientated price. Yes I do love the Supercut but that's just taking it too far I reckon. I'd much prefer to see a concourse factory restoration, but to each their own I guess.
Cheers, BB

Hell MrMckay and BB,
It is fair to say that the Supercut was our "Rolls-Royce" in terms of 'classic' design purity. It was not ground breaking - but it was built as a proper lawnmower should be built 'in the day'.
This presents as a quality restoration, but not to a "concourse factory" expectation. I think the great BB sums it up nicely: "but to each their own".
For the work put into this, this is a ridiculously cheap machine. I doubt whether the market will see it this way.
The rest is history. ------------------------------- JACK.

Hi CyberJack,
I absolutely love the polished chain case as that is what I want mine to look like and being a Electroplater and Metal Finisher by trade I will come up with that result quite easily. Sadly I no longer have access to any Plating facilities as I do love the Chrome handle bars but as I said originally I want mine to be a monument to Australia's Mowing Heritage and also to the Legend that is "Scott Bonnar" the man.
Cheers, BB

Hi to Mr McKay, BB, and Cyberjack,This machine would look good in a display setting with Peetee's SB 45 as pieces of art. I definitely agree with the sentiment "to each his own", and BB's comment to see one restored in original condition as a testament to the great Australian company that was Scott Bonnar Ltd.

Yeah ! I'm somewhat surprised that the guard wasn't refitted as that would've made it look much better especially if it to was chromed like everything else.

Hello tezza98_tnharris, BB and DJ
Well spotted! ... although your description of the consequence is quite vivid and gruesome. Perhaps the concept behind a horror movie . . . "The Mowerman Only Rings Twice" The original design did include a chain [or belt guard] around that primary drive. This one would look good with a slender stainless or chrome one.
All very interesting. ----------------------------------- JACK.

I'm glad you clarified that it is supposed to have a chain-guard Jack. When I saw that "feature" I was horrified, but kept quiet in case it had been made like that by SB.

Hi All, As this Supercut has taken on some interest I decided to call the seller and ask some questions regarding the circumstances surrounding it and how it came about being done like it is. 1, It "was" a one owner unit 2, The seller did most of the job himself as he's involved with Power Mowers at Parkside, SA 3, He wanted to Rat Rod a Scott Bonnar 4, It originally had a Villiers 412 on it and was a twin belt driven unit, thus no chain guard was ever fitted 5, The seller is open to offers and wanted to know if I had any real interest in buying it (No) 6, It has not been used at all So my question really is and I wasn't game to ask it, but why did he do all this ???, as surely no one is going to pay that sort of figure for a lounge room piece as it currently is. Yes he has it sitting in his Lounge !! and to answer a question before it's asked, no my wife wouldn't allow me to do that as its not as versatile as a Victa 18 to convert into a functional coffee table. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/02/full-5156-20173-rat_rodded_supercut_a.jpg) Isn't this chain cover absolutely devine ?, Luckily due to my own trade I will be doing this to my Supercut (Chain Case that is) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/02/full-5156-20174-rat_rodded_supercut_j.jpg) Just a snap shot of this amazing one off work of art Cheers, BB

Hi BB, and well done mate...you have posted some pics to this thread....I was worried that the eBay link would disappear and the thread would not make sense. I think I might put one in the first post....
