Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum, just started playing with these engines and am wondering if someone can clarify the correct/factory jet and top springs configurations for the power torque and powertorque 2 engines? If somehow could help fill this in that'd be great. I have emailed several dealers about the VSX160 and they have come back with different answers, i think it may be a 2ring jet and 200g spring but i want to be 100%. Also feel free to add other engines.


Power Torque Jet Top Spring
V160/VS160 Plain ?
VSX160 2ring? ?


Power Torque 2 Jet Top Spring
VE40/VE50 1ring 150g (red)
VEX60 3ring 200g (yellow)

Surely someone has pulled a few apart on here and know what they normally have? Someone has fitted a plain face jet to this one, i know that is incorrect its either 1 or 2. I thought they were 200g springs but again have heard some say 150g, i just want to put the correct parts in it.

Hummm... I am also novice, but have bought 3 Victa's (second hand) and one engine, all powertorque. Two of them are VEX60, one VE40, and standalone engine don't know...will verify tomorrow...
I opened only VEX60 carb, and spring is purple?!?
Will be opening other 3 these days, so might be able to give some more info...

Just to clarify - top spring is the one that between metal plate that holds diaphragm and plastic cover, and for jets it would help if you post some pictures and explain...or maybe it will be clearer to me what to look in a jet when I disassemble all 4

Your correct on top spring mate, long one between the washer and diaphragm cap.

The jet is the brass screw that holds the float chamber cap onto the carb body. You may notice rings on the face of it, these correspond to it's flow rating. VEX60 have 3 rings. VE40/50 have 1 ring.

See my first post for correct bits for the vex60 and ve40, as far as i'm aware there is no purple mate, blue, red, yellow, clear. VEX60 should have a yellow, VE40/50 have red.
