Hi Lesley, welcome to Outdoorking.

You've posted in the right forum, now the question is whether someone has a suitable flywheel that they don't need. Hopefully it won't take long to get a response. Note that it is possible there will be a response by Private Message, rather than to this thread. If that happens, a flag will come up just to the right of the My Stuff button at the top of the screen, when you are logged in.

Can somone post a pic of just a flywheel, I surely would have one here, but cant remember if its early (victa 18 style) or later (more series 70 style. No doubt I have one but if I have one the right type AND in reasonable condition is another thing.

Before we go any further, just to Clarify firstly...Do you have a broken or unusable sample you can post an image of, Or do you not have one at all?

Sheerline Magneto should be The same as the Second generation ( Models 2a 3 4 and 5 magneto) as far as Im aware, just a different manufacturer. Early Model 5 fly has "Certzinc 275" marked on the inner. The sheerline has no Makers mark and 2 red paint swabs. Ive checked 3 model 5 and 3 sheerline and I cant see any real differences, except slight cosmetic variations.. Both 10 fin Victa Stamped and keyways and poles are in identical positions. The First generation Sheerline 125 is virtually the same engine as the Model 5 from memory with the only exception being the top crankcase half.

An indication of location would be handy Lesley, as someone local to you may be of more assistance.

Lesley, as Blue said, can you give us an idea what part of the country you are in? It affects whether it would be worthwhile shipping a flywheel to you. Secondly, are you restoring this mower as a collector's piece, or just trying to mow the lawn? Blue's point is that there are tiny differences between flywheels that make no functional difference but are important to collectors. If this is a true restoration, you need exactly the right flywheel, and the experts need to know details of your mower so they can match it correctly.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I live in Geelong VIc and the mower is in East Fremantle WA the elderly owner is very capable in maintenance and he has fixed everything and knows the flywheel is not working in fact he wanted to re magnetise it but could not find anyone who could help. The mower is for mowing as being so light he can manage it plus it is the only mower he has used. Unfortunately he is not into computing hence where I come in. I also know the difference between a screwdriver and a hammer. I am happy to purchase one then send it to the west. Also I have a place in Cootamundra NSW if that location helps.

Hi Lesley, it might be quicker to send a Private Message (PM) to Chris. At the top of the screen you'll see a My Stuff button. When you press it, the first choice in the drop down menu is messages. Press it, and you'll see a list of your past private messages, plus on the top left, New private message. Select that, and type bunipper into the Add recipient window. Type in a Subject, then a Message, and press Submit - it's all done.
