Hi guys, I'm purchasing this mower and will be looking at cleaning it up a bit and giving it a long overdue service, could you identify how old it is roughly? Also what engine would be in it and anything I should be aware of? Thanks. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/01/full-8788-19605-_57.jpg)

There should be a date stamp near the in-let manifold (Black Plastic) that the carby connects to on the block. That one has the Chinese made power-torque 2 stroke engine on it.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

Hi Ferret and welcome to the forum. Your machine was made on or around 1998-2000 but as Blumby said you'll know for sure by removing the carby and finding the 2 digit date stamp just below the manifold. The engine is a 160cc powertorque 2 stroke. If it doesn't run the first thing i would do is remove the muffler and check the condition of the piston and rings. If they're in good shape then most other things are easily fixed. If not then you need to weigh up your options based on the extent of the damage, what parts you have available, the amount you're prepared to spend and your level of expertise with all things mechanical. Report back and let us know what you find. Also a couple of close ups from different angles will help.

Thanks guys, but I haven't bought that mower after all. I had some trouble with the seller refusing to negotiate at all and having very poor communication so I've moved on. Purchased a (maybe) 12mth old Victa Vantage with B&S 450 4 stroke engine instead. Its running a little rough, so I'm going to drop the oil, check the filter and spark plug and see if that helps.
Throttle also isn't working properly, its catching at the stop position so to get it to stop you have to physically reach down and push it into stop position. I'll have to see if I can adjust it a bit higher so its not catching.
