Hey Guys,

My next Rotomo is about to get another unrestored Make Over.

This is an early Model 2 Transitional Model.

Its another Original owned mower.

Correct 10,000 serial, series 2 125, Model 2 base, Model 1 barrel and throttle control.

Barrel throttle control and brass nut carb(in box)would be likely original fitment for this serial.

Correct Ess pulley

Missing parts...Tin wheels, choke assy (in box), and badge assy.

Owner modifications and repairs... Base crack brazed, reinforcing bars on the base (bloody good idea!) And sheerline Period wheels.

My aim is to keep this original as normal, with the addition of the correct badge carby, muffler( offset am currently fitted) and choke assy. Rebuild or refreshen engine and electrics and replace all incorrect nuts/bolts. And enhance all remaining parts.

I also intend to keep the homemade brace bars, and possibly add tin wheels at a later stage.

Hi Blue and ODK Members and Guests

I don't think I've seen that brace modification before.
Not a bad idea.

Good luck with the refreshments.

I know right, me either....Rotos usually give a bit on the rear axle mounts when you pull them back. This is quite Rigid now, with a little flex in the bars and some dampening from the wheels.

I reakon this may have saved a lot of cracked base brackets, as its not constantly bending them up and down.

I really love the ingenuity of some owners...The pink stocking on the air filter was a nice touch...lols

Some progress Images,

Engine stripped and asessed...

As can be seen in the pictures, the piston is shot, as are the bearings and Small end bush. The crank is worn at the lower seal position, but saveable.

Electrics all came up good with exception of severly worn point contacts.

Engine rebuild,

Electrics tested, reset and good point set fitted.
Barrel recoed, tapped, and ports opened up.(model one ports are often severly restricted due to poor casting)

Good Sh crankshaft and bearings,
NOS Piston and rings 0.20
New small end bush
Gaskets and seals.

Anothe one saved and Will be a nice solid engine

2 more to save while im at it:) Model 4std And Model 2 Roto for spares:)

Hi Blue and ODK Members and Guests

I guess this mower has had a 'full life'.
There's something appealing about freshly cleaned components and a new lease of life.

As you said, "Another one saved".

All very rejuvenating.
