Hi ODK Members, Picked this one up along with 4 other Scotty's and a Honda and as such I have no idea as to what this lucky dip is ? Does anyone know ? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2014/12/full-5156-19022-barrel_mower_a.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2014/12/full-5156-19023-barrel_mower_b.jpg) Any clues would much appreciated as I'm sure it has nothing to do with Scott Bonnar, maybe Victa ? Cheers, BB

Hello BB,
It's a Rover Thoroughbred. This was Rover's first reel mower and it combined elements of Scott Bonnar machines and Masport/Morrison machines. Vintage late 1970s and early 1980s.
All very interesting. ----------------------------------- JACK.

Hi Jack,
Very interesting as it's badged as a MSAA Mower which really isn't a brand.
Not sure what to do with it to be truthful as I've got that many Scotty's at the moment that I'm rapidly running out of room.
I'm sure someone in Adelaide might want it as its a pretty original and solid machine.
Once again thanks Jack.
Cheers, BB

Hi BB, Yeah, these were/are solid and well-engineered machines - and Rover engineers would have had a very close look at the SB45 in designing their Thoroughbred. That's a great point on MSAA not really being a brand ... More could be said there ... Cheers and thanks for bringing the lawnmower branding topic into focus - again. All very interesting. ---------------------------------- JACK.

Hi CyberJack,
Well I guess it's really more of an Association Accreditation more than anything that created buying and selling power.
Cheers, BB

Hi BB, You bet it did mate, and both Malcolm and son Fax Bonner were right at the forefront with the formation of the association and, if I am not mistaken, were both on the founding committee. It is amazing that it is now defunct!
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl
