I have a shindaiwa hedge trimmer dh230, srats , idles fine, when reaching almost full throttle it cuts out / almost stalls. Taking the air cleaner off seems almost at full throttle too much fuel rushes in. I fitted new carby gasket kit has improved it alot but still cant get it to rev at its highest without it drowning. The carby itself doesnt have any visible signs of air / fuel mixture control. Removing the muffler just in case or blockage still does the same thing. I have cleaned the fuel filter, all hoses are clear, fuel is new, air filter is new and clear. Carried out carby clean, still the same.. anyone have any ideas, experience and or manuals on this hedge trimmer or carby technology.

dristo72,

Ok start by removing the muffler and checking the exhaust port to see if it is blocked up.

If port has excessive amounts of carbon in it clean it out and then start the machine without muffler to see if it peeks out.

Then if all is ok you will then need to check the gauze in the outlet of the exhaust. It also could be blocked up just remove it and clean it as well.

All should be ok if not post again. cheers2
