Hi guys just wondering what this old steel Victa base may have been as Ive not seen one before seems old...

Hi Chris 125 and ODK members,

I'm by far not a Victa model expert.
This is pressed steel, and the medium arch identifies this as 1960s vintage.

Best guess: A Victa Viceroy.
Introduced for the 1962-63 season.

That looks like him alright, Late 62-3 Viceroy(although its only a base, its almost cetain). First of the pressed steel bases since Rotomo and Victas next generation styling after Sheerline. New catcher starter and CHROME!.

I Forgot all about the Viceroy Model when we spoke chris....Easier when you see it. Mystery solved. While I wouldnt say its terribly rare it is not seen very often.

I Think it was Cadet,Envoy,Viceroy and possibly another,but im not sure off hand,but I think this was the flagship,Id have to bipass the memory for books to check that lols.. I do have a nice rusty set of hanlebars that will suit this base perfectly lmao.. .

Thanks guys at least I know what was way back when , great pic I can see the base as should be...not going to restore it or anything was just wondering what it was as Ive never seen one..

its actually quiet rare i certainly would tuck it away in the shed ! almost as hard to find as the victa consuls of the same time it took me 10 years to find one

Yeah, just whack the starter on Chris and she'll be good to go.lol
