What's the easiest way to free up a small homelite welbro carb that sat up all winter and has most likely "varnished" up? It was worked on late last season and ran great. I lazily put it up for the winter without draining all the fuel. Now it won't do anything.

More that likely all you will need to do is R&R the carb diphraghms/gaskets. It takes a much longer time to 'varnish up'.
Also check the condition of your hoses and fuel filter.
