Hi,

Thank you for a most excellent forum, I have learnt a lot since joining last week.

The reason for joining is that I acquired a 21st anniversary Greenfield Model 88 8-28 and Outdoor king seems to be the only place for expansive information on them.

The mower has no hand brake lever, it has parted company with the previous owner. I found a picture of it on the thread 'broken drive shaft' with Deadly Dave,
https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=19698#Post19698

I stole the picture and circled the part I am after.

I'm on the Sunshine Coast. [Linked Image]

Cheers all.

Hi Lukey, welcome to Outdoorking.

I'm not completely sure what you have - some pictures of your mower would help. I think Deadly Dave's machine is a Tractor 8, and I think that is much older than an Anniversary 8. I'm also not sure that remarkable lever on Dave's machine was made by Greenfield - not only is it way too agricultural, by my reading of the IPL the Tractor 8 did not have a hand-brake, just a latch on the foot-brake.

Here is the park brake mechanism for an Anniversary 8:

Here are the numbers of the relevant parts:

Please post some pictures of your machine, so we can identify it, and the parts of the park brake mechanism you do have, so we can understand what is missing.

Thank you for the quick response,
There is no foot brake, the previous owner said just push the heel toe pedal into reverse. My concern is if the chain breaks then I have no way of stopping it safely. All the bits are exactly the same as Deadly Daves' minus the handle. I can see where the weld has broken on the bracket with the adjuster bolt and pivot. I have attached some pics. Luckily the decals haven't worn off! I put the instruction and model decal photo on for reference. So, all I am after is the handle that has the adjuster bolt and pivot plate attached to it. I hope it makes sense? Thank you and Cheers, Luke. [Linked Image]

I'm not familiar with that machine, Lukey, but the model description to the right of the instruction decal says 8-28 and 12-30. The IPLs we have - Anniversary 8 and Anniversary 12-32 - both say they apply equally to 12-30. Can you tell me whether this diagram shows your machine please?

Everything is the same except for the battery. Mines a pull start and no electrics.

Doesn't that mean the parts shown on the parts list I already posted, are the correct ones?

That would be correct then. Hard to see because the resolution of the picture isn't the best. As I said everything is the same except the battery. Has anyone got a photo showing the park brake?

Cheers,

Luke
