Yes absolutely, mine was a convenience thing mainly. I was getting a 45/17 that I had snaveled re-engined and decided while it was stripped down may as well throw a new reel in there. Have recently scored a few new toys for the shed so shall post that in the appropriate area. Not sure how the pic post thing will go using an iPhone but I'll have a crack.

Btw grass type was oztuff couch, awesome stuff.

Hi BonnarTech.,

Great pic of the Subaru Ex13 engine, I am seeking exactly the same upgrade.. The only problem is I can't seem to find in Australia a supplier who sells the US version of the Ex13 engine you have in the photo. I called Crommelins and they said they only supply the Yellow Japanese version.. While the US version comes in black with lifted fuel tank lip for non-spill and an exhaust deflector as standard...
Any advice on where to locate one of the US Ex13 engines greatly appreciated.

I am unsure if images below will display... give it a go.. thanks in advance.

Hi santa_ana_bob,

Honestly for just those small items why would you want the US version ? The exhaust deflector can be bought for a couple of $$ and fitted here.

There's reasons why certain engines are shipped to the US and others are shipped to Oz. Most of this this is emissions related and also Carby orientated due to our different climate opposed to the icy conditions experienced in the USA, anyway the yellow looks so much more striking on a Scotty if it's repainted in the original colours while the US donk look rather drab IMHO.

Cheers,
BB.

Hi bonnar_bloke..

It's mostly aesthetics, deflector and lifted filler are no biggies...My mower is a really a Red Rover 45 late model select.. I was going to refurbish it Ferrari red with the Ex13 engine...Red / Yellow look isn't what i was really going after.

Its a ways off project at the moment.

Cheers
Bob.
