as the title says unusual custom projects. i would like to share one of mine . even though its not really mower related some of you may still be interested to see this. i owned an old ford transit van. was a great car and huge inside but i needed a 4x4 so this is my mod to it from all bits n bobs. landcruiser, nissan patrol etc.was a great car till rust got the better of it. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2014/05/full-5742-16633-1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2014/05/full-5742-16634-2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2014/05/full-5742-16635-3.jpg)

There used to be at least one company in Melbourne converting Holden and Falcon wagons to 4x4, using parts from Land Cruiser or Patrol. One of my nephews had one. Not a product I admired at all, but he was using it as a car with moderate success. These conversions were done in the late 1970s I believe. (I think the biggest problem was the long station-wagon rear overhang, which pretty much limited the vehicle to reasonably smooth tracks, not cross-country stuff.)

Dont forget the Factory release XY Falcon utes and wagons, and the Holden Overlander",Statesman Wagon Panel Van And Ute....They are pulling in really big bucks now with collectors. Read up on them as both have very interesting Stories behind them. http://www.truckjungle.com/2012/08/18/aussie-classic-xy-falcon-4x4-ute/
