Hello,
For the powertorque engine, i would like to know what are the main difference beetween the chinese and the aussie engine block. How can i recognise each other. maybe it'll be easier if someone could post pictures of the 2 engines showing the difference.
Thanks a lot and have a good day.

only real difference looking at it from outside is the cooling fins on block are fewer (bigger spaces between) easy to see but there must be other differences too

Well nothing on paper as you would expect, but it would seem that the Aussie build engines are just a little more hardy, but you would expect that. That's not just as they were made here but there was a little more quality control back when we were making them.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

Theres no Chineseium in the Aussie cast iron.
Ive never really seen any issue between either blocks. Its been reported that the Chinese ones crack, the bolts are made of cheese, the heads are no good. But I cant say any of the bad quality is consistently bad. Its more the bodge from dodgy repairers and tenants thats consistent.
But if I was to do up a motor for myself I would grab an aussie block, a later one with the bigger transfer ports.
