Hi i have just painted my victa 18 model 4 with galmet hammertone in avacado green.
The main issue i am having it i painted a test piece before trying it out on my mower and it didn't go
down to well any tips would be great as i realy dont know what to do other then rip it all back and start
again and paint the red 1st and then mask it off then spray the hammertone and i realy don,t want to do
that if i can help it the test piece was etch primed then painted with hammertone then 3 days later with
the red and this is how it turned out

You need to slow down lols. They give a dry time for paint, not always a cure time, plus these times apply for the handling of the job, not for painting over. Your avocado needs to cure and harden, before adding another colour and brand. Basically the thinning content and the fact the avocado has not cured will cause it to blister. Do another test piece let it dry for a few weeks then try again.

Did you paint acrylic over enamel? If you did that is how it will react. You can paint enamel on acrylic but not vise versa.

Another suggestion...just linish the paint off the top of the logo rise with a flat sanding block and paint your red on the bare alloy....Wattle KR 123 will be fine without a primer for this job.

Looks more it blew up to me. Perhaps traces of silicon.Area wasn't clean enough for the paint to take.Spent the first 15 years of my career in the panel beating industry and have seen that many times before. The best paint job has the best prep work done.Use prepsol (wax and grease remover) before applying first coat.

Here for a good time, not a long time.

Think I might leave it for a few weeks and see how it goes I still got a few other parts to finnish plus waiting for my axles to be made as mine were in pritty bad shape and im also building an electrolysis bath to clean my motor and the fuel tank because there is a fair bit of rust on and in both
