Just managed to chew the centre hole in the cutting plate. Had trouble securing said plate. Seem to be missing a packing washer. (Thought - breakdown of packing washer may have lead to poor performance of motor in the first place?) Where can I buy a replacement cutting plate if available, or will I need to get the old one repaired. Any help appreciated - Warbea

You should be able to get a second hand one from your local mower shop. yay

If not post a picture of your old one and we will locate one for you. cheers2

Thanks Bruce,

yes, I did just that. Got it going - eratically at first, then it came right for about 15min before becoming eratic again. Carbie looking good - no leaks. Think I'll try replacing the condenser next. Thanks for the support - gives me the confidence to do the job. Cheers, Warbea

Warbea,

Have you put the washer on the blade plate correctly because it sounds like you have not tightened the blade plate correctly. Which way have you got the washer on? Is it on the nut side?

Bruce,

Yep, I obviously made a pigs ear of tightening it up the first time but have got it right now with the washer next to the nut and it is as tight as. Thanks. Cheers, Warbea
