Hello to everyone,
Haven't been on the forum for some time now.
We have moved out of Brisbane were we have been for some time into the country.
It has been a long term project building our solar passive house that is off the grid.
With my interest in renewables and having an electrical background I have powered the house and shed from PV panels, battery bank and inverter, pleased to say it is all working fine (so far).
Happy to post some images if anyone is interested.

Still love the forum and plan to do some posting soon.
from Mark

Welcome back, Mark, I for one have missed you.

I did a smaller scale version of your solar power project some years ago - it was a major undertaking though, not so much to build it as to keep the vast bank of storage cells healthy. Deep cycling once per year was probably the biggest single hassle - it took the 8.5 kVA diesel generator about 14 hours at 50% load to recharge it, IIRC. (I could only charge at 115 Amps through my 24 Volt ex-forklift battery charger.)

Unfortunately it is not a suitable topic for Outdoorking, but I wish you good fortune in both playing with it and benefiting from it.

Hi Mark and :welcome: back yes I'd love to see some pictures. I know how much of a passion it was for you two. I guess it would now take me a lot longer to visit you now.

Gday Mark, looking forward to reading more of your posts and with the solar power we've been on a 5kwt system for two years and haven't looked back . Not the same as yours but still better than paying a bill, cheers . cheers

Thanks fella's,
This site and its members have given me the confidence to have a go and pull stuff apart.
I think it is great that people are willing to share their knowledge and I just try to do the same.
