Is there anywhere in Australia where I can get some ignition parts for a Villiers 2 Stroke or do we need to go OS and import them.

I have a 1950s vintage Austral Villiers cylinder mower which I think has a 3G engine. I'm looking for an ignition coil and a condenser. Also, the compression is poor so I wouldn't mid trying new piston rings. Or, if someone had a long or short motor with good compression for sale, I'd be interested. Does anyone have any parts at all? I attach a photo if that helps. Regards, Fergus 0421288692

You don't have to go overseas, I have bought parts through two places here John, who is a member here runs Rustic Spares http://www.rusticspares.com.auAnd Steve who runs Villiers Parts http://www.vaces.com.au/photos/villiers-parts/He states on his website that he has some parts for 2G and 3G engines, I have bought rings and gaskets off John and ignition parts off Steve. You may get everything you need from just one of them or a bit from each. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hello Paul
Thanks for that. It has been noted for future replies.
I was not sure about that. Sorry if I have offended anyone.

Thanks very much Jack. Great to hear from you. I also dropped in to see Ray Brammer on O'Hea St in Coburg (he's run his mower shop since 1960). Ray is going to have a look around to see if he has any parts as well.
Thanks for your comment too, it's good to hear you like the Austral Villiers. I like the fact that they were locally made when we were manufacturers in Australia, rather than consumers.
I'll let you know how I go.
All the best, Fergus
