Well was doing my daily brouse of Gumtree the other day and spotted someone had a little pop up tent for spray tanning kit, this got me thinking about putting up a tent in my shed for spray painting now the weather has started to improve, so I got looking around on Ebay to see what was around for cheap, I ended up getting a 3m x 3m Marquee for $136 delivered, (cheap) as I have too much good stuff to get covered with overspray. I can even put the blasting cabinet in there also as they are quite dusty, I have only just put it up to see how it will fit, I set it up over one post of the hoist so I can put a board on it to use as a bench and there are plenty of places to hang stuff from the roof frame, I might have to hook the vacume cleaner up to suck up some spray LOL, but seeing though I will only be spraying small stuff I will just take a break if it gets too thick in there. I normally have another car of mine parked where the Marquee is set up but I think I will only have to roll up one side and the car will still fit with the nose in the tent.
I like the concept mate! What sort of paint will you be applying? I need to put a booth in myself but we'll be using 2k and polyurethane so need extraction and spray suits. I'm also looking into a separate blast room as well, save the dust covering everything in the shed. Great idea mate, I'm interested to hear how it goes!
Hi Jonesy, that seems to be a good simple solution for painting small parts...just remember good workshop safety with all the fumes about...You know the drill Please let us know how it goes.
