Hi Bruce, everyone,I have a Homelite electric c/saw model EKS1400.It has a red case,is of German manufacture & has been a great workhorse to date. I have stripped the teeth on the main (large)gear in the gearbox & wonder if parts are available.I've searched the net high & low but can't find any mention of this particular model. The label states Made for John Deere Australia. Redeye.

Redeye, Can you put up a picture as well as the UT number. The people that took over the John Deere parts are Ryobi Australia but they are not very helpfull with information. You could also try Husqvarna as they took over Poulan and the 1625 model could be the same gear (it has a metal drive tooth centre with plastic teeth gear).

G'day Bruce,I had a quick look at a Poulan 1625& it doesn't resemble mine externally at all.I don't know what the UT number is,only other numbers on the label read -Q00088 and 414912.It is apparantly made by Ikra Hobby Motor Handelsges mbG of Germany. If necessary I'll borrow a camera & send you a pic. Is this ,in your opinion, worth repairing? Up 'til now its performance has been faultless.Redeye

Redeye, You could ring Ryobi on (02) 8892-1800 as they might be your only hope. The parts are normally not that expensive.
