Hi,
I have a Scott Bonnar model 45058 that I would like to restore to a new condition.
Never having attempted anything like this before, I have a few questions:
1) where do I start
2) what will I need
3) where can I get spare parts from
4) what is the best way to strip the original paint off

Any help is appreciated

Dan,

Nearly all parts are available in the online Store except for the plastic plug on the chain cover. cheers2

Hello
Perhaps spending some time reading through the forum might help you out. I have read a few posts on different jobs that have been done. Depends on what you are hoping to achieve. If its a full strip down and overhaul everything then I would definitely be reading lots here. Also document everything you do and take lots of photos. I also use those click lock sandwich bags for different nuts and bolts etc. you can write on the bags what item they are married too.
And don't be afraid to ask questions im sure there are a few kind people who would be happy to help.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Stevesandra, and a warm welcome to the forum. It's great to have another Scott Bonnar model 45 owner on board. grin
Unfortunately, Big red, the thread starter has not revisited the site since the 9th of August last, so will probably not read your excellent reply.
Thankyou for your post, it was good advice offered.
Once again Stevesandra, :welcome: to OutdoorKing.
cheers2
