McCulloch Mac2816 once used for about 20 or 30 min. ;If I have to stop & help someone or do something else, After just a few min. I'll come back to use the trimmer to finish the trimming of the yard and the unit will not start up again... any help on a possible solution or what might be causing this?
Plus badly need a user's manual for the trimmer so that I might be able to go threw checking the proper setting and adjustments that may need to be done ...

Anyone help me out please !!!!!!!!

Akira,

Just a few questions I need to know first:

1. How long have you had the machine?

2. Have you done anything to the carby settings(the 'H'screw and the 'L'screw?

3. On the carby can you see the word Mexico stamped on it (it will be near the screws that go through carby to hold it on)?

4. Is it an old spark plug?

Answer these and I will try to help you. rockon

1. I've had unit for about 8 or more years.
2. Did not adjust any of the screws till after it started to act up.
3. Yes it does have the Mexico stamp on it.
4. The spark plug will be changed when I put the whole unit back together: just got done rebuilding the whole unit top to bottom .... As far as that goes piston wall & piston after some minnor clean-up look very good for how old & for the hours put on them, I also rebuilt carb and made new gaskets and seals from some old webber carborator kits I had laying around. Now I basically have the trimmer all back together and this week or the next I'll have a new spark plug for it and I think it's going to work perfect. all I need now hopefully is the prelminary settings for the 'H'screw and the 'L'screws for the basic ruff start-up for the trimmer and then if all goes right just fine tune the carb settings !

Any info on how these should be set would be very helpful ... Thanks for the reply and any help !!!!! Akira Lee

Akira,

I assume that the carby is a Walbro type 'WT'.

What carby kit did you use? confused

Ok then when you replaced the diaphrams did you replace the filter screen in the carby? :Wavey:

Also have you replaced the fuel filter in the tank? sleep

Did you check the fuel lines from the tank to carby? cheers
