Traded this one last weekend, anyone know much about it. I cannot find anything really on the engine to ID.

at least i know its a kirby engine , i think from around mid 70's . there was a post up here a while ago but i cant find it now blush showed a little info on early pope

That is not a Kirby engine, it is a Subaru Robin 2 stroke. They were fitted to quite a lot of Pope mowers. You can read about it here:
