What kind of oil and gas are to be used for the MAC 2816? I do understand the ratio is 40:1, the whacker says to use the McCulloch special blend (nice marketing ploy) I'm sure you can use something along the lines of 2/4 stroke or SAE 30. I just want to make sure.

Tom,
You can only go on the recommendations of the oil manafacture as all oils are different.
I would not be using SAE 30 grade oil as you should be usuing a two stroke engine oil for air cooled engines only.

Thanks Bruce. Been told by numerous people manufacturers now package oil in ratio sizes. Found 2 cycle 40:1 size and whacking like a mad man. Thanks for your response.
