Nice score Blumby, i like the VC, it should come up well ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11215-img_0462.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11216-img_0463.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11217-img_0464.jpg) I've uploade a few pic of a VC i got from my scrappy for $10.Put fresh fuel in and it started second pull. Runs like a gem, it wouldnt turn off so i cleaned the cutoff swith contacts and no problem now. As you can see someone took to it with the gold paint some years back so i painted the cowl black to match the catcher, which is the wrong one for this machine but looks complete now. I remember you saying in an earlier post that the red mustangs had the remote fuel tap. Was this exclusive to the red ones or were they also fitted to the green ones adhoc as well, because this one has the remote tap also (2nd pic).

Well I do believe the remote tap was fitted to the first of the VC-Mustangs,of which you have there(which was the Red and Green models). That one is the 1973-74 VC-Mustang Mark 1G Victacode V135.Engine number should start with either 11073 or 11074.Could I get you to take some close up pictures of the remote fuel tap so I can see how it is?.As my one is missing the tap.I have the bracket on the base the fitting on the tank but no tap.Thanks.

Yes it is a 160 but I'm not even sure it is correct engine for that base.It really is a bitza.I'm just going to part it out.The base is completely destroyed.

Yes that is 100% correct. Some times mowers just have to be wrecked to get the bits we need. Now if only I could find a VC-Auto drive, and that allusive gold twin which I just can't seem to get my grubby little hands on.

I'll take some close ups of the fuel tap tomorrow and post them in the evening Blumby. Ahh the elusive gold twin(Supreme), i sold it about 18 months ago, my dad had it since new and was still running when i got rid of it, a little worse for wear. Still it sold for $250 on ebay... Some photos for everyones viewing pleasure: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11223-mowers_053.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11224-mowers_055.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11225-mowers_070.jpg) As you can see, cracked cowl with fins missing, catcher has a repair, but still a damn good starting point for a resto.

Oh so you were picking them up before I could. The one that peed me off was somebody had seven they were trying to sell in a garage sale. I said to him they won't sell. He said well if they don't we are only putting them out the front. He then went on to say be here a 4 pm Sunday and you can take them. So I did but the pri#!k had put them out already and I'm guessing the scrappies got them as the catchers were all that was left.

Yeah i cant stand the scrap guys total disregard for mowers....they take any mower and just chuck it in the back...and it gets taken 'as is' for low grade scrap value....thats why we see so many catchers left behind... I saw some nice old roller mowers (scott bonners?)amongst others in the back of a big caged trailer... packed upside down under old washers and dryers...with no regard to their real value..or future use!

Yeah, i rescue a few from my scrappy's mainly newer ones to onsell, but there are quite a few earlier models that end up going to scrap, the non collectable stuff like cortinas, mayfairs, etc... la la la, sorry blumby, i didnt mean to upset you, just thought you and the other members would appreciate a few photos. Anyway, i took a couple of photos of the remote fuel tap setup on the VC mustang. From what i can tell its a standard fuel tap with the brass filter removed ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11226-picture_300.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11227-picture_301.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6430-11228-picture_304.jpg) As for the engine no. you were spot on, 11073 294 although the vivta code is V111, but the airbox may have been changed somewhere along the way.

Awesome bigted thanks heaps yes it is just a normal regular fuel tap. That's great as now I know how to get my red VC-mustang running with it.Now if I can find another brass fitting to put my green one back with it.Your victacode V111 is actually a VC-160 Mark III code.

After having another look at your carby (bigted) on the your VC-Mustang. I'd say that somebody has changed it as I don't remember that those were around in 1973. It should have a aluminium bowl not the plastic one. The plastic bowls didn't come out until 1974-75. If memory serves me correct. Not that it will bother you but I thought I'd just mention that. However I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. PS. Still not happy about the gold twin P.S.S. Get it back and ill gladly have it.
