Thanks, it's getting there has been a steep learning curve as Ive not pulled one down before, looking up as much as I can on Briggs..Only stuff up so far was working out cc,I had already pulled it down before getting bore and stroke as there seem's to be two of this kind of engine from Briggs both have 65mm bore but one is 148cc with a stroke of 44.4mm, and one is 158cc with a stroke of 47.5mm ,they seem to have got 158cc with a stroker crankshaft of sorts...but alas this one is the plain jane 148cc engine by the looks of it not that it matter's as its in great shape.....

Chris125, Nice looking engine but what I could not see is the metal oil slasher that should be on the bottom of the conrod.

Looks great. it would be worth replacing the rover badge though as it really drags it down

Really well done on a nice job. Better than the equivalent you will buy today.

Sorry I never commented on this Chris, but I am only recently starting to see your work and I am very impressed. Your attention to detail is truly amazing. Not one thing has been missed. This forum has some really talented people and inspires me as well, as I am only knew to restoring mowers. I hope my future restorations will come close to your standards, well done mate. Keep them coming please.
I also want to see more of the gxv120 you were doing, I can't wait any longer lol.
