It sure looks like a Rebadged Victa Fairlight Electric. The Resemblance is striking, Minus Different cowling and a Slightly different On/off Switch. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/04/full-5772-10533-full_5048_7796_102_0031.jpg)

I would have said the base was very close,as is the over all design in many ways...But a VICTA? Hardly,Not in The US. A design copied more than likely, and Similarly looks like a VICTA..But one truth in my opinion is for certain,it is very unusual in design to American styled mowers of this period. Over all I think A very close and probably coincidental likeness:)

OK well being the owner of the above mention Victa 400 electrics and Fairlight.I can see far to many difference's between that USA mower and the Victa's.Yes there are some similarities between them and maybe somebody copied someone's design, but there are too many differentness in fact I think the one your looking at may even be a bigger base.I can't quite work out if it is a steel or alloy base.I must admit it isn't what I'm use to seeing for a mower from there, but I don't think it's made by Victa.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

Alright guys, I have some news! Turns out it is a Victa! The seller bloke looked all over and found a number plate saying no more than "16" Electric Mower" "Made under commission-Victa Mower Company" "Made In Australia" However, The machine went to scrap this morning unfortuneately. He said he never got my last email telling him I meant to buy it. Kori

Back in the late 70's? Victa sold a large number of machines to Sears whose brand was "Craftsman", the story was the order was placed over dinner and the order was written on the back of a napkin. The name Craftsman was owned by Victa in Australia and they signed over the name to the MSAA the Mower Specialist of Australia in the early 80's and this became their premium exclusive brand

Hello pmorrison, That's new information here. It explains how MSAA acquired that name. It would appear that this machine sold in other markets under other names. This Mustang Electric comes from the UK:- Cheers ------------------------ JACK.
