Found another Scotty 45 14" but its an electric version on eBay

eBay Link

1. Can these be modded to fit a petrol engine?
2. Are parts from the petrol versions similar?
3. What replacement 240v engines can I use if this one fails?

I don't have a relatively large lawn currently only about 180sqm of lawn which is not much approx 8x10meters smile so the power lead is not a problem.

Hi again Peter,
The short answer to your first question is no.
Some parts you would need for the conversion are not available as spare parts....and the costs; engine, the whole cutter clutch assembly, engine shaft, plus the fact it is an early model (replacement bearings etc) it just is not worth it.
Q2. some parts are common, but just remember it does not have a cutter clutch. wink
Q3. You would have to source one from a company that sells or reconditions single phase 240V, 50Hz electric motors.
I believe a 17" petrol would suit your needs better. wink

Hey deejay,

Thanks for that info I'll wait until a Scotty 17" pops up!

I'm still kicking myself for not purchasing the mower thr other week!
