G'day All,

I'm slowly getting my SB45 17" back together and was wondering if any of these spockets look salvagable?

The cutter sprocket looks a little tired, the rest look really good to me, How is the engine sprocket?

Hi Salty, thanks for posting these pics for us, with good pics it makes it easier to diagnose any probs. grin

I agree with Joe, the cutter sprocket looks a little tired, but is still serviceable....the rest are all quite serviceable and should last for a long time if kept well lubricated. As Joe has suggested, we do need a pic of the small upper primary engine shaft sprocket.

With the cutter (double) sprocket....if you do decide to replace it; you will need to replace the primary chain as well....as using the old chain will clag the new sprocket in next to no time. wink

Thanks Guys,

Nice to know I don't need to fork out for all new sprockets. I will however get a full set of new chains.

Here is the pic of the engine sprocket I omitted:

Hi Salty, that sprocket is clagged....pointy teeth indicate that it has had its chips and that the primary chain has stretched. You will need to replace this one, mate. wink
