G'day all,

Not 100% sure this is in the right place but (Feel free to move it if it isn't)

I went out to buy a Lawn Boy "Mechanics Handbook" and while I was there the woman said that she also had a mower for sale if I wanted to have a look...

So, I did.

Its a 1877 Lawn-Boy model 8232AE, the "AE" being for "Alternator electric start"
Which means the mower will not only start with a key, but will charge itself in the process..

It ended up having a mouse nest under the shroud and water in the gas tank, but with some cleaning up a nice mower was made.

Sorry For the rubbish pictures, I'm using my Droid phone and its almost dark.
I will make a video of It going, complete with the electric start.

Was that 1977 Kori? Seems a bit advanced for 1877. It's an interesting mower, a description with some pics of the details would be useful. Is that an Iron Horse 2 stroke engine? What is that piece of sheet metal ducting laying on top of it?

Yes it is a '77 Model, And It has a 4.5HP Outboard marine co. 2cycle engine,

I'm sorry about the pictures, it was in low light, and I'll take more pictures and a video of the mower later this week.

Also what piece of Sheet metal?

Oh, Yeah,

That's the grass chute, Lawn-Boys have massive side bags to collect the grass.

This is not my mower, h [Linked Image]

I'm sorry Kori, but I'm trying to work out how the grass comes out of the shute & into the bag?

I Will be uploading a video Later on, However the air from the high-lift bar blade bows the grass, leaves and small twigs up the chute and into the "Bag"...

I Have Included some better Photos.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your American mower, I think it is cool.
A large 2 stroke engine.
I look forward to the video.
You wont see one of those in Australian tip shops.
You have an old mower there in top condition.
