Back with yet another question. Does anyone know how to remove the little primer ball check valve in a 3.5 HP B&S carb. It's the carby that sits on type of the fuel tank. The primer bulb functions OK (no holes) but no fuel comes up. If I hold my finger inside the carb over the place it is supposed to squirt out I can feel fuel coming up and into the primer bulb but if I try without doing that nothing happens. I'm told there's a spring and ball valve under the primer but I can't see how to get it out. I thought I'd inspect that - maybe the spring is kaput.

Normal stuff up. I got the little cover off and then the ball bearing fell out. 15 minutes later I found it. I've lost the spring now.

I thought that stuff only happened to me. Other times I carefully put the little teensy bits away, then forget where, until I accidentally flip the little dish they are in and they travel across the workshop and land in a heap of old bits that have been there a long time.

When you get it back together, please let us know whether the problem was fixed, so we can close the thread.

The spring has gone. Are you able to buy these parts?

Thanks Joe and Grumpy. I couldn't find the spring. I went down to the mower repairman and he sold me the top part of an old carby. I'll keep the old stuff for spares.
