Had a big night on eBay last night. Found some new repo decals for my Rotomo's and Sheerline's. Couldn't help myself and bought 3 sets of each. The Sheerline one's he only had 3 left. The Rotomo one's he still has more.I have never seen the Rotomo one's so cheap. So I jumped on it.Here have a look for yourselves. If anybody want's the link to the auction let me know. I'll be glad to show you. Here are some pictures of them. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/09/full-5048-3214-sheerline.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/09/full-5048-3215-rotomo.jpg) So I'm glad I saw them, especially the Sheerline's, I've never seen them before.Hope they do come as good as they look.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

there are 3 obvious very bad spelling mistakes on that sticker.. manufacturers parramatta and sydney the fourth is the fuel ratio.
If my collection is complete ( then how come i keep buying stuff ? ) 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Well spotted gizmo, I would not attach a sticker like that to a restoration....I'd get my money back on those.

re- the castrol xl decal, i am not sure that the spelling of '' paramatta ''is not correct for the era,as a search on google suggests that spelling was often used at the time. The template that i had for the green 1/2 pint and yellow 1/3 pint both only had one ''r''.So i think that the seller[not me], has at least got the spelling right for one word. The other two decals appear to be correct

Hi Voljon, I have just done some research on the spelling, you are quite correct...Parramatta was spelled Paramatta back in the late 19th century (1800's). The Royal Australian Navy named a vessel HMAS Parramatta in 1910 and it was named after the "Parramatta" River. Here's the link...Click HERE I contacted my cousin, who has lived all his life in Parramatta, said that it has always been spelt that way during his lifetime and he grew up there as Mervyn started producing the first Victas. So on this occasion, IMO, you are incorrect, the person who did the template did not do his homework and made several spelling mistakes on the one sticker....definitely not cool.

they may well have spelt parramatta that way in the 19th century. however the correct spelling to match the original sticker had it spelt with 2 Rs.and after all it is supposed to match the mower it originally came off of.

No Bruce, he's not young, he just cant spell, this chap from Newcastle has sold mowers with features such as a fresh coat of pants, great handels, powertalk engines and one with a sers 70 engine!
he also has up some rear flap claps for a sheerline, stickers for both utiliy's and unility's, blades for victa cartcher models, stranded pistons, and sticker reprodutions!
He's a millionaire scrap and sell, rip off merchant from Newcastle, who likes to spend his time telling people model 4 automatics are just model 5's, and scoring them for $50 where he can!
Cheers Ty

Nope, that's the brizzy ripper, the one who sold you the dodgy brass nut carby.
This fella is a guy who's name is used for the father in a long running, american TV show set in Springfield!
Cheers Ty

As to the spelling, If Victa had a copyright on the sticker, I am pretty sure it had to be changed by at least 10% to not be a violation. Its the only reason I can think of as to why it would be like that, the original sticker on my model 1 is mostly intact, I will drag the tank out tonight and have a gander at it...

Hi Joe, I know that can work with song lyrics (to a degree) but with a sticker, the whole design layout of the sticker could have been copyrighted....The one word that definitely would have been protected is Victa (registered trademark) and that is one of the words spelled correctly.....This sticker is just sub-standard!

I got a headache just reading that message Bruce, a lot of these sellers couldn't care less for the buyer, the machines or anything else but their hip pocket.

Gooday Fellas, You probably know this - but...... I have always bought my decals from Rustic Spares (I have no connection to them). In their latest catalogue they have Villager; 1/2 pint Castrol sticker; 1/3 pint Castrol sticker (both green and red); Victa Rotomo; Castrol XL silver with red stripe through centre and Torque-Master for mowers - and a large range of Howard machinery and 100s of stationary engine decals. They have a web site too. I try to keep away from the rip-off merchants as described above.
Sorry for not being on for a while - I wandered off the "straight and narrow" by getting tied up helping start a Men's Shed.
Stationary
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Welcome back Stationary. I think you'd posted about the Men's Shed involvement, but we've missed you.

I second that Stationary, great to have you back mate!! Good news about some well produced decals. No one wants to have decals on a newly restored machine that have spelling mistakes....that guy should remove them from sale....Just another case of buyer beware. I have seen some of Rustics at the Yerong Creek field days....very good quality.

Haha wow poor bugga! He copped a beating from you mob lol!! I can't stop laughing!! Anyways on another note, have been looking at some reproduction victa 18 decals for the fuel tank, the seller has two options though.... 1. The castrol lettering is in black 2. The castrol lettering is in green My question to all the whiz kids on here.... Is there a different era that the black lettering was used? Different models maybe? Perhaps there was only one colour used? Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction! Big thanks again to all in advance and especially to those for the previous posts on this thread that gave me a jolly good chuckle!!!

Yep, he copped some well-deserved flak there. From the ODK 'Victa Model 4 Automatic Specifications' thread HERE, it looks like the green text version corresponded to the Concord factory address [1955-58]. Like this one: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-6801-12196-tank_sticker_green_concord.jpg) The Victa factory moved to Milperra some time in 1958, and it looks like the text colour changed at that time. THIS past thread has a reasonable pic of an original tank decal with the Milperra address. Of the Victa 18's with cowl mounted tanks, Models 3, 4 and 5 may all have been made at both locations, as far as can be determined by the Victa Green Book. A lot of the 18's about have been 'bitserised' over the years.
Cheers, Gadge
