I personally really dont like them, the engine is a chinese made briggs, and have a habit of blowing the conrod out through the fuel tank on a space mission, the mower itself is very similar to a similar era GMC mower, infact the base is the same but blue and they use a different catcher and catcher flap.

Personally I have never really liked bag catchers, I think its personal preference though, with a hard plastic catcher I usually beat it on the ute when emptying it to make sure everything is out, where I have struggled to empty a bag catcher without it trying to fold inhalf on itself.

As for the blades, an old rover cutting disc with 18" blades, boss, bolts and key will fit perfectly - been there dealt with that smile

They shine up nice and get a fair dollar.

Im with joe, a pita to deal with one of them.

They had an alloy crank boss, history if you hit/mow anything.
The handles were really really weak, moreso the GMC.

The GMC had a blade disc with swing back blades.
The GMC side throw with a bar blade was similar but if my memory is right not the exact same as the Rover but the same length.

The 18" boss and disc works but if my memory is right that mower is 19 1/2" cut or something silly like that.

Have a go at making up a catcher bag or repair yours with shade cloth, fishing line and a big arse needle.

Or if you can get the bolts undone without busting the ears off the sump or snapping the heads off the bolts, go buy any rover you see with a decent base and catcher, swap the motor onto it and sell all the bits of your Q off on ebay. Someone will buy it.
