Would anyone have any information on a Scott Bonnar Model 16 " The Queen" powered by a Villiers MK 25 RG. I am looking at buying one for a restoration for use on some of my lawns. I know the motor is 256.5cc 3hp but it's more the mower it's self that I want info on. Thanks David

Hi Grumps, the Scott Bonnar "Queen" Model 16 is a very strong industrial cylinder mower first introduced in 1950. It came in 2 cutting widths 20" and 24". They were a very popular machine in their day. Here's a pic for you...

Just a thought Grumps, most Bowling Club greenskeepers will have had some experience with a Queen mower in their time and some are still using them albeit in the electric machine....but they could give you invaluable info on the chassis....they are a friendly bunch usually and have a wealth of knowledge on reel mowers. wink

I've seen these on eBay I didn't realise they could be so old.

Thanks Deejay, I missed out on the one I wanted to get, the freight was going to be huge, will have to keep scanning for one here in NSW.
Cheers David
