My father bought this mower at the Perth royal show in I think 1978 ? I cannot find any model number on it. It has given fantastic service to many members of my family now so glad I have had her for the past 10 years. Got a pinhole in the exhaust but otherwise still starts , runs and mows ok. Hi cuscus, and a warm welcome to the OutdoorKing forum. It great to have you aboard. We are lucky to have quite a few members that are Victa guru's and they will be able to give you some information on your machine. Are you considering restoring it to original condition? Once again cuscus,

I beleive that is a V196 1977-1980 160cc Utility Pro.
You should be able to find a serial number stamped on the crank case, if you can post it, I should be able to tell you more about the dates for this one.
That is a Series 70 MKIV (sometimes lables Series 80) engine, G4 Carburettor, and Serviceable Decompression valve (assuming all original)
Cheers Ty

Thanks Guys, I will be back down my property in two weeks and have a look. Is the serial stamped on the block on the carby side ( the opposite side to this picture ? ) , or do I have to remove the pull starter assembly to get to it ?
Are there any sales brochure or reviews pics on this site , or members machines of this model ? I have not seen any yet.
I am excited to have found others suffering this old victa disease.
Regards David

You should either find it on the side of the crank case near the carby, or the side facing forward when you mow
Cheers Ty

Hi cuscus did you manage to find the engine number? I have the same model and mine is dated 1978.

Does anyone have a frame like this they are looking to move on?
I'm in Melbourne and would be interested getting hold of this model with the petrol tank mounted on the handle bars to suit a 160cc full crank Victa engine.
Please PM or reply
Cheers
Nolan
