Can someone please tell me where I can obtain a workshop manual (Haynes /Gregorys) for an old B&S 8 HP Vertical motor.

I have one on my old Victor rideon and it is in need of a stripdown/rebuild

You should be able to buy the manual that you require from any mower shop but if you have a problem doing tha they caontact me through this site under spare parts. I will need the model number of the motor to get you the correct manual.

Bruce

Bruce,
Thanks for your prompt response. I have tried to get a manual from our local (Lawn Mower) retail and service ooutlet near Scorsby (Vic) and they told me they can't even get manuals for themselves, let alone customers. Not very nice....

Where can I find the info you require on model No. etc so as to identify the right motor. This is probably a very old motor (25+ years).

Many thanks

Warwick,
I think that it is just too hard for them to chase up. Now the model number is stamped on the metal cover over engine near the cylinder head. If you will supply me with this information I will try to get you a manual and if not I will e-mail you the information that you require.

Regards,
Bruce

Manuals can be downloaded from briggsandstratton.com, but you still have to have the correct model, type, and code no.
