Hi
Im Chris and I have 2 Scott Bonnar Model 40s.

The first one I have had for 5 years and hasn't let me down. It is not original as it has had a 2.5 HP Kirby fitted, but it is complete with catcher and is the mower I use on my yard. I lent it to my brother and he tried to mow his lawn that hadn't been cut in months (should have used a whipper snipper first!) and he wore out the rubber wheel inside the drive drum. I'm in the process of fitting a Briggs and Stratton 3HP as I'm not going to the trouble of making a new rubber wheel to fit the Kirby. Its already not original so I want to maximize its reliability.

The second model 40 came from the local tip a few weeks ago for $20. It has the original Villiers and is almost complete. It doesn't have the catcher and is missing the carby, exhaust and fuel tank. I love these mowers so I plan to restore it when I finish the first one.

Sorry, its the only pic I have of this one at the moment

Welcome Hoffa,
You appear to have a bit of work to do, especially on the secong unit.
However, we have members that will lead you in the right direction and give you a hand.
I have been amazed by their knowledge of not only mowers, but engines and other garden type machines.
In this forum there is a place for instruction and parts books, and here you need to take out a yearly subscription.
Many parts can be purchased from the Online Store (see link on the top left side of your screen).
So all ther best,
Stationary smile

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.
