I decided to run out my Victa Commando of fuel before refilling with a fresh batch. When I did this & tried to restart, no luck. I found bugger all fuel came thru tap so I removed, cleaned the tap & filter & replaced. Now it still doen't want to start. Can anyone offer any suggestions on what may be wrong with mower (or operator).

Uckillya,

Ok it sounds like the fuel is running straight into the cylinder. confused

1. Do you have fuel leaking from the carby? yay

3. If wet turn fuel tap off and pull the motor over about 20 times to release the fuel from the cylinder. devilchilli

4. The dry the plug and put it back in and try to start with the fuel tap turned off and the throttle in the hot start position. cheers2

Try that and see if it will start before turning the tap back on.

Thank you Bruce

I'll try in morning & let you know, but no fuel leaking from carby that I could see. And don't want to run the wraith of the mrs as starting now would probably wake the 2 yr old up.

Bruce,

Plug was a little wet, so tried your advice but still to no luck. It even occured to me that maybe it had water in fuel, so I drained tank into glass jar & left for 1/2 hour & couldn't see any water in it. Re-mixed 500ml more fuel & added that and tried but still no luck.

All the best

Michael,

Ok have you got spark at the plug?

If so what colour is it yellow or blue?

Did you follow the steps that I listed on last post?

Are you getting any pull back on the starter when you are trying to start the mower?

Try this and let me know what the results are before we go any further.
