Working on my dad's ryobi the primer bulb is not pumping fuel through when you push it. The bulb is in good nick as are the fuel
lines. Any ideas on the problem?

It could be a few things which are:

1. Fuel filter in tank is dirty/blocked

2. The carby needs to be stripped and cleaned of any dirt as it also has a filter.

3. The primer could be faulty and need replacing. To check put fuel lines on and in some fuel to see if the valve is working correctly.

Try this first.
