My VC500 lawn mower has just recently started becoming hard to pull start. It has the VSX160 power torque motor. I removed the decompressor diaphragm thing (not sure what it?s called) and the pull start works easy. I sucked on the hose nipple of the diaphragm and the piston pulls in and stays in OK while I keep the nipple blocked. I replaced the hose from the diaphragm to carby with a clear hose I had. Didn?t make any difference. I noticed the original hose had a white plastic plug ( with a small hole through it ) in it at the carby end, is this a check valve? I think I might have lost the ball bearing in front of it if it is. Could someone offer some guidance? Could I get an assembly picture of the carby diaphram set up. The mowers throttle would increase by itself while mowing too. I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks.

Seamoss, We have carby information under the Parts List and Repair manuals are that might help you. As to the throttle increasing when mowing, it should do this as that is how the governor works.

Thanks Bruce,
I tried to access your "Parts list and repair manuals" section but I don't have a password. What do I have to do to gain access? I'm happy to make a donation, I don't have a credit card (fairdinkum!), I'll have to send you a cheque.
PS. The throttle actually advances by itself until it's flat out. Governor is OK.
Regards Chris
