Yeah , way back mid 1900's when I was young , we used to call them ram tubes , fuel could get a bit of velocity up before entering cylinder , same principle I guess .

I wonder how it effects the performance of the mower.

When I had a vk commodore I had 6 standard manifold spacers under the carby, couldn't go anymore as the air cleaner would hit the bonnet with a decent clutch dump. As it was we had to change the carby studs. Made a big difference especially at night time with cool air.
On another note awesome work once again mate!

Hi Blumby , thanks for your kind comments . No ,I dont have a big shed , I just built one late last year to accommodate twenty eight mowers for display , but that is now overflowing , especially now with the generosity of Ty who recently gave me a Scott Bonnar reel mower , was lovely to meet Ty and it seems that for his birthday , He is giving the presents . ( wrong way round ???? )

I'm just glad to see that one get a good home, With the backlog of mowers here for restore I'm struggling to keep up, and the recent loss of space has seen me find the need to loose about 25, some are being sold off (mostly power torques) on the bulletin board at work, with some others headed to Bob and Joe, that scotty has been plaguing my mind for ages, It's such a beautiful machine, but with so many mowers, I just cant accommodate an electric, and i'd rather see it off to a good home than the uncertainty of sale, and it would be a crime to scrap it.
Now it's headed to become another of your museum grade restorations, which to me seems the best outcome of all!
I got enough to keep me very satisfied for my birthday, if you have any interest in valve radio's, let me know, and I'll PM you all the pic's!!!
Cheers Ty

Wonderful, I'm glad it's all good, as I mentioned, it had been some time since I had the chance to run it!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
Cheers Ty

I know what you mean I have the same problem. So when that fine example of a 2A pops outside due to no room and was forced out due to the pressure.Let me know I'll be there in about 20 minutes.Ha ha yeah I know I'll just keep dreaming.
Here for a good time, not a long time.
